ABOUT ME

Hi, I am Lea Wagner, born and bred here in Queensland in 1968. (making me 55 years old right now OMG!). I am a Qualified Personal Trainer and Exercise Nutritionist and have been exercising my passion for fitness and health for over 20 years as a trainer.   I am in remission from Leukemia, I have 4th grade osteoarthritis in both of my knees, I am post menopausal, suffer from the auto-immune condition of Lupus & suffer from debilitating migraines.  So, given all this, I am pretty sure I can sympathise with whatever medical condition you are maybe living with.

I come from a diverse background, with a Bachelors in Accounting from CQU, owning restaurants in northern Queensland, and Scarborough, all the way to starting my career as a personal trainer just over seventeen years ago.

MY LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH MY BODY

I have come from being someone who hated exercise (turns out I just hate cardio, lol) and who lived on a mixture of painkillers to get through the day due to chronic pain.

To know someone who lives, breathes and sleeps exercise and a healthy diet; except for my once a week cheat meal, you have got to live. I have reduced my dependence on prescription pain medication to a minimum if not at all most days.

Pictured below was my bum in my early thirties (before).   The afterimage shown was taken when I was nearly 43.  Same body weight (62kg) just different composition (fat & muscle). This is important to note because your weight is not indicative of how healthy you are.

COMPETING IN INBA

In 2011 I was awarded first place in my Figure division in the INBA against 12 other women. That was one of the proudest days in my life as it had been a very difficult 18 months prior seeing many specialists and spinal surgeons about my condition. Not heeding my doctors advice, I decided to compete anyway.

At the end of comp season, my MRI’s had actually showed my spine improved. With perfect form, and carefully chosen exercises, just about anything is possible.

My passions are resistance training (weights), HIIT (high intensity interval training) and circuit training. Watching the transformation building lean muscle mass & see those fat kilos disappear has on my clients is so exciting. Seeing them learn about the effect food has not only on their body but their mind.

MY CLIENTS

I have a massive spread of clients, ranging 17 to 69 years of age. Some with perfect health, others with issues such as Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Arthritis, Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Diabetes, Post Surgery, Lupus, Leukemia, Pregnancy and post-baby.

My qualifications and extensive experience (including my own) with Chronic Conditions ensure I take the highest care of your body, sculpting you into the best you can be – without compromising your dignity or health.
